In response to the increasing demand for travel to Northern Europe from Asia and North America, Finnair has announced a significant expansion of its network for the summer season of 2026. This includes the introduction of a new route to Alta, Norway, renowned as the "City of the Aurora."

Starting March 29, 2026, Finnair will begin flights to Alta, offering five weekly services. Known for its stunning natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor activities, Alta is famous for its aurora borealis views. The city is also a global cruise destination, attracting travelers from around the world. Finnair will operate this route using ATR aircraft.

Alongside the new Alta route, Finnair plans to increase the frequency of flights to other popular Norwegian destinations. The Tromsø route, previously available only during the winter season, will see an enhancement to five weekly flights for the summer. Similarly, flights to Kirkenes will increase from three to five times a week.

Additionally, Finnair will boost its services to Stockholm and Copenhagen, with daily flights resuming. Flights to Reykjavik in Iceland will also see an increase, with two additional flights each week.

Perttu Järvinen, Vice President of Finnair's Network Planning, expressed the airline's commitment to facilitating convenient travel experiences for South Korean travelers looking to visit Northern Europe during the summer. “We hope this network expansion allows more travelers to enjoy the beauty and charm of Northern Europe. Finnair aims to respond proactively to the demands of passengers and strengthen our position as a leading airline in the region,” he said.

Finnair is also offering special promotions for South Korean travelers planning trips to Europe in the upcoming autumn and winter seasons. This promotional campaign will cover 21 European routes, including major cities such as Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo. The booking period for these promotional fares runs from April 17 to May 2, 2025, with travel dates available from September 1 to December 11. Round-trip tickets to popular European destinations like Rome, Milan, and Paris are available starting from the low 800,000 KRW range for the Economy Light fare, which does not include checked baggage. Customers can purchase these fares exclusively through Finnair’s official website.

As Finnair expands its services and offerings, it aims to attract more travelers to the Nordic region and enhance the travel experience for its passengers.
